Having a family photographer that can capture the progression of not only a couple but your children is priceless! I know this firsthand as I have a beautiful family with my wife & two daughters. You & your children will be that age only once in your lifetime, remember those times & memories with a family photographer. Oahu is a great place to live. I have family on the mainland & every time my brother comes to visit, I’ll set up a family photo shoot so we will always have that time to remember.

There are many beautiful beaches in Hawaii, and in the early morning sunrise, these beaches are pristine, all of the footprints from the activity the day before are washed away from the high tide the night before & you can witness the day’s first magical light.
I strive to make my Oahu family portrait photo sessions fun & memorable for you & your family. I know how important & precious a family photo can be. I don’t really like the “posed” shots, but everybody has to have one, especially grandma, that’ll be first on my list. I try to engage the family in more of a candid lifestyle photo session where each family member will be interacting with each other.

If you’re not familiar with the island of Oahu, family photographers like me would be more than happy to recommend shoot session locations as well as times of day that would be best to have photos that will last you & your family a lifetime.
The best times of the day to do an Oahu photo session are sunrise & sunset. Why? It’s known as the “golden hour” it’s the time of day when the skies turn into a rainbow of colors, orange, yellow, pink, purple & blue, it will simply take your breath away! However, with that said, it is not the only time of day that a Oahu family portrait can be taken.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much time do I need to schedule a photo session?
It may be four weeks before your family photographer on Oahu session, but depending on my scheduling & if I do have an opening, it may be possible to fit you in sooner.
How should I dress?
My advice to you is to wear something you feel comfortable in. If you have matching shirts & dresses for your family, shorts & slippers, or formal wear. Very few Honolulu family photographers have my level of experience.
I’m worried about posing.
Easier said than done but don’t worry, I have 12 years of experience posing model photo shoots & couples portraits. I want your experience to be stress-free & most importantly fun!
How long will portrait session last?
It all depends on what photo session package you choose. I offer 3 packages 45, 60, or 90 minutes.
What’s included in my photo sessions?
My base package offers 20-30 photos in a 45-minute shoot time. Package #2, you’ll get 40-50 photos for 60 minutes, & my 3rd package has 60-70 photos on a 90-minute shoot time. You will receive the final edited photos within 5-7 days, & 2 sets of pictures, a set of low-resolution jpeg optimized for social media& a set of high-resolution jpeg suitable for printing. We try to give the best value that a family photographer in Honolulu can offer.
Are my pictures edited?
Yes, all your pictures will be edited with my standard editing package which will consist of color correction, contrast & exposure adjustments.
How long will it take to edit pictures?
Normally within 5-7 days, depending on my schedule & if time permits it may be sooner.
How can I pay you?
I do accept cash, Venmo, or PayPal.
Can I sell the pictures you deliver to me?
You can use all the pictures I deliver to you for your personal use on your website or to share on any social media platform, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter. As the family photographer, Honolulu-based Ryan Sakamoto holds all copyrights to the pictures he provides & cannot be sold or reproduced in print or digital form, to receive monetary gain.
